Springtime in Northern Ontario is very pretty, and after our long, harsh winters, it is a welcome reprieve to us Northerners.
In this colourful nature painting, I share a scenic landscape that greets us in the springtime at Trolling Lake, where we go camping and fishing each year in Northern Ontario. Wildflowers are blooming, and the leaves in the trees are just starting to bud. When I took the reference photo, I knew it would make an attractive landscape painting, showing the bright colours of the wildflowers contrasting against the dark blue reflections of the far shoreline.
Trolling Lake, which is part of the Rocky Island Lake system, is dotted with many sandy beaches, islands, coves and colourful rock cliffs. This nature painting shows just a small part of our beautiful Northern Ontario scenery.
