   This nature painting features two Common Loons travelling the shoreline together like guardians, in the misty subdued lighting of an overcast day. To me, paintings with mist and fog emit a soothing atmosphere, an expression of peace and tranquility found in nature. The mist on the lake, along the willows on the river, and through the hills in the background, creates a soft difference in colours and lighting against the darker hues of the shoreline reflections. The Common Loons in the foreground add an element of life and motion into this peaceful nature scene.
